Remarks about history and general condition:
Winner of the inaugural SYC Trophy and one of only five boats built, “Whileaway” has been in storage since a major rebuild in the late “80’s. Completely rebuilt to the original plans from the finest original materials, the hull is covered in Kevlar and encapsulated with epoxy. The teak decks are new and un-caulked. The deckhouses and portlights are also new, the hull is currently primered in awlgrip. The twin diesels are new and coupled to Hurth V-drives. Currently the interior is removed and plans are in place to fit hollow carbon reinforced spars and Vectran sails with all new rigging and hardware ready for an early 2009 launch. Under restoration at STAYS Marine, “Whileaway” is offered “as-is” or finished to your specifications.
